Mark has been a TV and radio broadcaster, scriptwriter, producer and journalist for over 30 years. Working across a wide range of subjects, from sport to pop culture. He currently co-hosts Jonny Owen and Friends, a Sunday morning chat show for talkSport. Jonny and Mark have worked together for several years, most notably on a football series called The Boot Room for Notts TV. They have also collaborated on documentaries for talkSport. 

For over 10 years, Mark has also been the guest pundit on the Virtual Jukebox music phone-in show for Five Live. Where he was also at one time Simon Mayo’s resident TV critic.

Mark’s career in media began as a music journalist, before becoming a presenter on ITV arts show 01-For London, then co-host of KISS FM’s first breakfast show. He later spent 3 years living in New York and traveling the US presenting an NBA basketball series for Channel 4. Before covering a variety of sports back in the U.K. for Channel 5.

Mark devised and co-wrote the light-hearted documentary series ‘My God I’m My Dad’ for UK TV. As well as creating documentaries for Radio 2 on the birth of hip hop, the history of British soul, and a Radio 4 documentary on Louis Armstrong. 

He has also been a writer for a range of TV shows including ‘Sports Personality Of The Year’, ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’, ‘A League Of Their Own’ and an ‘Only Fools And Horses’ series for UK Gold. He has also provided articles on a variety of subjects for The Face, GQ and Jocks & Nerds magazines.
